Independent Bookstore Day Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) at Hicklebee's will be filled with games, fun, prizes and a celebration of the written word. Check back for the activities, authors and plans for the day.

11:00: Disney animator Benson Shum (he worked on Moana) will present his picture book, Holly's Day at the Pool, about a little hippo who's unsure about swimming.

1:00: Shots with Schatz. Kate Schatz, author of Rad American Women A-Z and Rad Women Worldwide, will be on hand to help promote A Literary Cocktail Party: Favorite Drinks from Our Favorite Writers. It's not cocktail hour at that time so our tipple won't make anyone tipsy, but Kate's presence is intoxicating in itself. Cocktail Party, at $16.99, is one of the literary items being made available only for bookstore day.

6:30 ~ Hicklebee's Teen Advisory Board presents an evening with young adult authors Brittany Cavallaro, Sonya Mukherjee, Gordon Jack moderated by Parker Peevyhouse.
