Join mystery writer Nina Simon and Hicklebee's adult book buyer Carol Doup Muller at an in-person event highlighting some of 2023's best fiction and non-fiction. It's an evening that can help you find books perfect for a curl-up on a quiet evening, for a book club selection, or for thoughtful gifts.
Carol will speak briefly about some notable books and then turn the evening to an introduction of Nina and her Mother-Daughter Murder Night. The book, Nina’s debut as a fiction author, promises, “Nothing brings an estranged family together like a murder next door.” Three generations of strong women–there's a Gilmore Girls vibe here–get entangled in the murder of a naturalist in Elkhorn Slough. The book was the September selection for Reese Witherspoon’s book club.
A former NASA engineer, slam poet, and museum director, Nina lives with her family in an off-grid community in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
